I have some concerns that have NOTHING to do with marriage.
I have chronic kidney disease- my urologist wants to run a CT scan. I went to schedule it this morning only to find there’s a $250 copay. I don’t have the cash.
I haven’t been to the dentist in over a year. I can’t afford the copay.
I haven’t been to the eye doctor in over a year. I can’t afford the copay and I sure as hell can’t afford the resulting product.
I have chronic gout which requires emergency medications sometimes. The first 6 months of 2012 I suffered from a chronic gout flare up. I had to use a came the entire time. I was 39 years old and I moved like I was 109. As a result of that attack I have permanent injuries to all major joints. I have a pronounced limp due to damage to both knees and both hips. Yippee!
My Bride and I have had to dismiss our needs for preventative and/or maintenance care during our entire marriage.
We were married in 1992. The month before we married I saw the dentist. I didn’t see another dentist until 2005. The. I didn’t see the dentist again until 2008. I saw the dentist last in March 2013. I have an issue or two with my teeth.
We spend over $200 each month on counseling copays alone. There’s another $140/month on prescription copays as well.
My mental health issues (not all of that is mine btw) is killing our budget. My brain one is responsible for $200/month in copays. That’s a good month too. There are times where we spend significantly more on my head.
It is with mental, physical and FINANCIAL thoughts in mind that makes me joyful that God is working on me.
Come to find out, victory and delivery are good for finances.
