Beware The Curse of the New Med

A new drug, Seroquel, was added to my daily cocktail. I picked it up after My Bride’s graduation.

During her graduation lunch, I asked the boys if anyone wanted to do something. Son3 said yes. GREAT!! He and I have been cultivating our relationship lately. Whaddaya wanna do, dad? Dunno, let me go take a nap and I’ll let you know.

I went and picked up my meds and ran to Brother’s apartment.

It’s been about 3 days since I remembered to take my meds. The fact I didn’t climb clock tower and jump is mind-boggling to me. It was around 3:00 when I got to my temporary hang out place. I took out my pills and arranged them in my M-F pull dispenser (I know thatI using one of those says I’m becoming old). I popped the day’s assortment of 8 pills and sat on my temporary bed. I cleaned my room and decided now was nap time.

Just before nap time I texted the boy and told him skeet shooting sounded like fun. He agreed and asked if fishing was cool too.
“Sounds great, kiddo. See you soon.”
I laid down and sleep overtook me quickly.

It was around 2:00 AM when I woke up to see of missed 3 messages from My Bride. The last message said, You stood up Son3 today, what’s up?
I had 19 other texts I missed and 24 calls.

Today I learned Seroquel knocks yo ass out, bitch.

I sent a text to My Bride and Son2 explaining what happened.

I’m embarrassed this has happened to me again, 18 months ago for Son1 winning football homecoming king. New drug taken Early = Dad out cold for a day and a half.

It sucks
It happened
Move on
